Stampin' Up!'s Traveler Stamp Set

Stampin' Up!'s Traveler stamp set is a throw back to yesteryear.  I don't know about you, but I've always had romantic thoughts of what it would be like to travel by train.

I wanted my card to come alive, so I made it 3d.  To achieve this I first stamped the image of the train, fussy cut it out and placed it coming out of the Lovely As A Tree circle and frame.

I can hear the conductor shouting, "All Aboard"....can't you?

Supplies I used to make this card:

Whisper White card stock #100730
Smoky Slate card stock #131202
Basic Black card stock #121045
Memento Tuxedo Black ink #132708
Smoky Slate ink #131179
Zig Zag TIEF #133738
Circle Collections framelits #130911
Traveler stamp set #134513

Linda K's Stampin' Champs Valentine's Day

How do Linda K's Stampin' Champs celebrate Valentine's Day?  With cards and treats of course!

Here is Nora's 2015 Valentine's Day card.  Didn't she do an awesome job?

Here are Nora's directions how she made this beautiful card:

1) Card base layer is Naturals Ivory card stock - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", folded to make a card measuring 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". It is sponged with Chocolate Chip ink.
2) Real Red layer is 4" x 5 1/4" and is sponged with Chocolate Chip ink.
3) Crumb Cake is 3 7/8" x 5 1/8". It is stamped with the retired En Francais Background stamp in retired Close to Cocoa ink. I very lightly laid it on the inked up stamp which was placed rubber side up on my counter. Then I just lightly tapped and rubbed it to get an aged look. The card stock edges were sponged with Chocolate Chip ink too.
4) Naturals Ivory layer is 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" but is torn and distressed diagonally. I ran this layer through my Big Shot with the retired Finial Press TIEF then sponged it lightly with Chocolate Chip ink. The card stock edge was crumpled a bit to make it aged and worn. The focal point layers are Real Red, cut at 3" x 2 3/4" and is sponged with more Chocolate Chip as is the Naturals Ivory layer which is cut at 2 3/4" x 2 1/2". It is also stamped with the En Francais Background stamp. I didn't reink it after stamping the Kraft layer and used the same method as before so this would be even lighter in color.

For the heart accents, I used my Full Heart Punch The odd heart is punched from the scrap of the dry embossed card layer and is sponged with a combo of Chocolate Chip and Real Red.  For my ribbon and bow accent, I used some ribbon I bought at Michaels and wrapped one piece around the large layers, adhering it on the back with SNAIL. Then I made a fork bow with a second piece of ribbon, adding the red bling to the center. A little snip on the ribbon ends for a crisp look and the outside was done. The inside was a magic pop up box made with a spare piece of Natural Ivory cardstock with an additional full heart with the En Francais Background. The sentiment is a retired stamp from 2002.

Look at her Valentine's Day treats she made using the January's 2015 Paper Pumpkin,  Not only did she remember her two legged friends, but her four legged friends too.

Stampin' Up!'s Hey Valentine

Stampin' Up!'s Hey Valentine is the perfect stamp set if you have little ones in your life.  I was getting a box out in today's mail and decided at the last minute to share these cards with you.  Aren't they the cutest????

Remember when coloring with the Stampin' Write Markers to first stamp with Stazon.

Here they are....

I used the gold sequins as the coins in this little pirates treasure chest....

I thought that the card needed a little something inside, so I made a banner and attached it to the first fold and where the DSP meets the card stock.  Kind of interactive....

I always like to "personalize" my cards and this card is no different.   The kids seem to get excited when they see their names.

Here is a list of the supplies I used:

Stampin' Up! Stacked With Love Treat Holder

I used Stampin' Up!'s Stacked With Love DSP and filled it with a little love (aka...chocolate) for those sweethearts in my life.  This was a quick and easy little project and it required no adhesive....that's right no adhesive!  Here's how I did it....

The DSP stack is 6-1/2" by 4-1/2".  I cut 1/2" off the short side making DSP be 6-1/2" x 4".  I scored the short side at 1", flipped it over and scored it at 1" again.  On the long side I scored it at 3", flipped it over and score it at 3" again.  I creased all the scored lines and then from the half inch lines, I made a mark on the outside of the DSP 1" from the crease on all four sides. Using my ruler, I made a diagonal score line from the intersection of the previous score lines to the 1" mark.  Once this was done I folded and creased those score lines creating the sides of the treat holder.

Folding the piece along the original 1" score lines, with the folded pieces on the bottom, I punched both ends using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.  After punched, flip the piece over and bring the scalloped ends together and you'll find you have the perfect holder for an individual wrapped piece of Ghirardelli chocolate!

I used 4" of Real Red Ribbon and 6" of Crisp Cantaloupe Baker's Twin to tie the little treat holder together.

Here are some pictures showing exactly how I made this little treat holder...

Cutting 1/2" off the DSP stack.

I've darkened the score lines.

A close up of me folding the diagonal lines.

All score lines have been creased and I'm ready to use the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.

I find that having the folded side towards the bottom is easier and less likely to get caught after punching.

The treat holder is ready to be filled.

Here is the side view of the holder with the treat inside.

The treat holder is all ready to be decorated.

This is how I decorated my treats.

Here are more treat holders using last year's paper and the Hey Valentine stamp set.

Here is a complete list of the items I used to make these treat holders:
